Great Loss to the Department of Computer Science
6/12/2002

Dr. Steve Seiden, Assistant Professor

It is with sadness to report that Dr. Steve Seiden was hit by a truck while riding his bike with a number of others. He died on the spot. Accident time was around 6:15 p.m. last night.

Dr. Steve Seiden, who has been on the faculty of Computer Science since 1999, has a doctorate in Information and Computer Science from University of California, Irvine. He was a very promising faculty in our department. His wife is pregnant and expecting a baby shortly. It is a sad loss of a good and talented professor.

With profound sadness.

... he definitely was a bright star on the horizon of the department. Such a terrible loss.

I'm extremely saddened. Dr Seiden was a great person. It is great loss.

This is indeed very very sad news ... and very difficult to accept, ... What a sad day for LSU.
