
LSU computer science professor Peter Chen has been named overseas
winner of the Pan Wen-Yuan Outstanding Research Award, Taiwan's top
award in high technology.
He was also recently appointed to the advisory board for the National
Science Foundation's Directorate for Computer and Information
Science Engineering. Dr. Chen Joins 22 other scientists on the NSF/CISE
advisory board. The board is composed of experts from academia
and industry.
The research award is given annually to three recipients. One from Taiwan,
one from mainland China and one from "Overseas," or outside
Taiwan and mainland China. It honors those who have shown "
outstanding achievement in the field of electronics, telecommunications,
computer science, information technology and information systems.
