31st Annual Dear Arthur R. Choppin Memorial Honors Convocation

The Department of Computer Science 2006 Scholars were recognized at the 31st Annual Dean Arthur R.Choppin Memorial Honors Convocation that was held on March 13,2006.

Students being honored have earned a minimum of 60 hours in college credit and have maintained 3.7 or higher overall and LSu Grade point averages or rank in the top 10% of their major. These students were enrolled in the college full-time in the Fall 05 Semester and are currently pursuing full- time course loads this semester.

    Research Interests:
    Innovative computer devices, low-power devices, alternative energy resources


  2. Karyn Elizabeth Klien - Award of Distinction
    Distinction both in scientific as well as business fields

    Majors: Computer Science Major/Minor in Business Administration
    Graduation: May 2006
    Interests: Providing technical expertise and support for curriculum development and support


  3. Ryan Brant Rousseau - Award of Excellence
    3rd Year Student

    Major: Computer Science and Mathematics
    Work Experience: Center for Computation and Technology
    Interests: Active in Association for Computing Machinery(ACM), competitor in ACM programming contest, recently has begun a sig group in Programming Languages

  4. Dax Gregory Thibodeaux

    Major: Computer Science and Mathematics
    Graduation: May 2006
    Research Interests: Working under Dr. Baumgartner in language support for functional programming in Java.
