The minimal standards for programs assigned in this course are:
- The program must be the work of the individual student,
not the result of a plagiarism. This disallows, but is not
limited to restrictions of, code sharing and uncited
published procedures and programs.
- The program must contain comments giving student name,
the course number, section number and assignment name or number as part
of the heading remarks.
- The programming style must not be abysmal.
- All programming requirements, as set forth in the assignments
or lectures, must be met, including the format and correctness
of the output.
- The program must be free of error messages.
- The program must be coded in Java.
Violation of the first of these standards will result in initiation of
university-sanctioned procedures concerning cheating. Violation of any
of the five remaining standards will result in the program being returned
ungraded.
Half of the points for a particular assignment will be given
for meeting the minimal standards; the remaining points depend
upon style and documentation.
